Scenic Painting Process

When I first began painting, I usually preferred to paint horizontally, because that was what I was used to. While attending grad school I had access to a paint frame that descended into a well. Entire drops could be painted vertically from floor level. During this time I had the opportunity to learn vertical techniques, and learned that while these techniques are different than horizontal, some work better for certain projects. Taking pictures is extremely important to the portfolio process, and yet it’s such a hard thing to remember to do. So often I finish a project only to think at the end, “Wow pictures of that process would have made a great portfolio addition.” The biggest problem is that, in school I was provided with a photo call to get portfolio pictures.
