In my experience, it’s not noticeably better than the latex from your local hardware store.  The colors are more reliable to be the same every time, and tend to be more pure in pigment, but not by a whole lot.  It mixes well with regular latex quite well, so I usually buy this if I have a need for, say, a perfect magenta on a set.
